It skews slightly older and more families-and-couples than Myrtle, with better restaurants and a marquee anchor - Harbour Town - that's worth every cent of its tour-venue green fee.

When to go
Spring is glorious and busy; RBC Heritage week (mid-April) sells the island out. Fall is warm, cheaper, and hurricane-aware. Summer is hot/humid family season.
Getting around
Fly SAV (more flights) or HHH (closer). Rent bikes the day you arrive - it's how the island works between rounds.
Where to stay
Sea Pines is the iconic base (and gives Harbour Town priority); Palmetto Dunes villas are the value-with-quality play with three courses inside the gate.
